Greater Southern Distributing Co., Inc. ("Greater Southern" or "GS"), headquartered in
Smyrna, Georgia USA,
is a privately-held, exclusive factory distributor of coin-operated amusement games,
jukeboxes, vending machines, microwave ovens and coin changers.
In the late 1920's, Franco Novelty Co. was founded in Montgomery, Alabama as an amusement games operating company. As the company grew, an amusement games distributing company was added, Franco Distributing Co.
In 1964, the principals of Franco Distributing Co. bought Robinson Distributing Co. located in Atlanta, Georgia on Edgewood Avenue. They changed the name of this company to Greater Southern to reflect a more regional identity. Eleven years later the company moved to its
location on Marietta Boulevard, where they remained until October, 2001. It was during this period Greater Southern expanded its product line to include vending machines.
After experiencing growing pains for several years, Greater Southern moved to
its
brand-new facility in Smyrna, GA in October, 2001.
Greater Southern's strength lies in its continuity of ownership. It has not experienced any management changes in over three generations and prides itself in low employee turnover. With over 65 years of experience, service and growth, Greater Southern's knowledge of the coin-operated amusement, vending and music industries is unsurpassed.
On an on-going basis, the company receives praise for its technical service. Greater Southern's technicians average over seven years experience and are able to work at the board component level. To assist the technicians and their customers, Greater Southern maintains a full line of parts and accessories.
