David Piha – President

Visionary Leader in Home Recreation

David Piha stands at the forefront of the home recreation industry, with more than 25 years of experience, steering Greater Southern Home Recreation towards unprecedented growth and innovation as its esteemed President. With an illustrious career spanning over two decades, David’s educational background includes a BA in Political Science from Tulane University and an MBA from Georgia State University. His strategic relocation of Greater Southern from Atlanta to Smyrna, Georgia, in 2001 marked a pivotal chapter in the company’s expansion journey.

 

A Path of Leadership and Growth

Serving as the General Manager from 2001 until 2015, David’s leadership was instrumental in navigating the company through periods of significant growth. His tenure at Watkins Wellness in 2015 further enriched his industry perspective, culminating in his triumphant return to Greater Southern as President in 2016. Under his guidance, Greater Southern has not only witnessed consistent double-digit growth but has also broadened its horizons into the patio furniture segment, solidifying its position as a trailblazer in the industry.

 

Beyond Business: Commitment to Industry Excellence

David’s dedication to excellence transcends his corporate obligations. As an active participant in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), his influence also extended to the Billiard Congress of America (BCA), where he served on the board from 2017 to 2019. His ongoing involvement with the Home Furnishings Association (HFA) for more than six years underscores his commitment to the industry’s evolution.

 

His hands-on approach is evident through his personal selection of premium furniture pieces at markets, ensuring that Greater Southern’s offerings represent the pinnacle of quality and innovation. Representing the fourth generation of his family’s involvement in the business, David Piha is not just leading Greater Southern into new territories; he’s honoring its rich legacy with a keen eye on future expansions.

Steve Baird – Operations Manager

Steve joined Greater Southern in 2006 when Greater Southern acquired Atlantic Billiard Corp, where he served as general manager. He started in the industry in 1988 as an installer for Peachstate Billiards, the Southeast’s premier billiards retailer at that time, to learn the industry from the ground up. In less than a year, Steve worked his way up to Sales Manager, and a year later, Operations Manager. Steve has served on advisory boards for many of the industry’s leading manufacturers, including Brunswick Billiards, Legacy Billiards, Plank and Hide and McDermott Cues.

Jeff Levy – Sales Consultant

In 2019, Jeff brought 35+ years of retail experience to Greater Southern Home Recreation. He specializes in delivering a personalized customer experience. Jeff was owner/operator of a two location, family-owned business in Pennsylvania. He continued his career by joining a growing, national organization as a Store Manager, specializing in sales, training and outstanding customer service. Jeff transitioned to the role of District Manager within the organization.

JD joined Greater Southern Home Recreation in October of 2020.

Chris Jurnack – Customer Service Manager

Chris Jurnack joined Greater Southern Home Recreation is 2002, and has over 20 years of experience in the home recreation/billiards industry. Prior to joining Greater Southern, Chris was General Manager of Peachtree Billiards & Home Recreation in Norcross, GA. He began as warehouse manager learning in’s and out’s of high-end billiard industry, but quickly rose to the leading sales associate in less than six months. After two years, he became general manager for the main store and two satellite locations. Duties included personal sales management and training, inventory management, store planning, advertising, servicing products, community events / public relations, and employee relations. At the time, Peach State was also the industry leader, setting innovative standards for low pressure, personal sales techniques and operations that were adopted and still seen used in the industry today. Chris has an MBA in marketing from GA State University.
